Project Overview
As Chad's first hybrid solar power station, this project integrates 1.5 MW solar PV generation, 4.2 MWh LiFePO4 battery storage, and an intelligent EMS platform to deliver stable clean power for Am-Zoer, Wadi Fira.
Commissioned on May 22, 2025, the solar-plus-storage system was installed and put into operation within 30 days of on-site deployment. Designed for remote energy infrastructure, it stores daytime PV generation, supports controlled power dispatch, and reduces reliance on diesel-based electricity.
The project shows how a turnkey hybrid solar ESS solution can support rural electrification, off-grid power supply, energy independence, and long-term renewable energy access in regions with limited grid coverage.
Challenge & Solution
Project Challenges
- Limited grid access and unstable electricity supply in remote rural communities
- High diesel generator dependence for continuous power and nighttime electricity
- Harsh site conditions with wide ambient temperatures from -30°C to 55°C
- Complex coordination between solar PV, battery storage, grid connection, and generator backup
SUNPAL ESS Solution
- 1.5 MW high-efficiency solar PV system using 650W double-glass bifacial N-Type TOPCon modules
- 4.2 MWh LiFePO4 battery energy storage system for extended clean power availability
- 500 kW PCS with grid-tied and off-grid switching for flexible hybrid power operation
- Intelligent EMS for real-time monitoring, energy dispatch, and multi-source power management
