Project Overview

In April 2025, SUNPAL ESS was awarded the EPC contract for a commercial solar-plus-storage system at a newly established water plant in Nigeria. The facility required reliable, uninterrupted power to support critical operations amid unstable grid supply and high diesel costs.

The customized containerized solution, delivering 200 kW power output and 500 kWh of battery storage, was engineered, assembled, and factory-tested in approximately 25 days. The system was shipped and arrived on site in early July 2025 for final installation and commissioning, providing a rapid-deployment, plug-and-play energy solution tailored to the plant's needs.

Challenge & Solution

Challenges

  • Unstable grid supply threatened continuous water treatment operations.
  • High diesel costs increased the plant's daily operating expenses.
  • Critical pumps required reliable power with minimal interruptions.
  • Rapid deployment was needed for the newly established facility.

SUNPAL ESS Solutions

  • 200kW system ensures stable power for critical water operations.
  • 500kWh LiFePO₄ storage provides reliable backup during grid outages.
  • Intelligent EMS coordinates grid, solar, battery, and generator power.
  • Containerized design enables faster installation, deployment, and commissioning.

Feedback from Project Manager

"One of our main concerns was keeping the plant running without relying too heavily on diesel generators. SUNPAL ESS provided a well-integrated solution that reduced the amount of work required on site. The installation and commissioning went smoothly, and their engineering team provided good support throughout the process."
